Overview
// TODO: Replace with real project write-up
This power distribution board was born out of the need for a reliable, lightweight PDB for a custom quadcopter build. Commercial options were either too bulky or lacked the specific BEC voltage rails needed for the flight controller and FPV gear.
Design Challenges
Handling 120A across four ESC outputs while maintaining low trace resistance required careful copper pour design. The board uses 2oz copper on both layers with wide power traces and thermal relief pads.
BEC Design
The integrated 5V and 12V BEC outputs use synchronous buck converters for high efficiency. Each output includes LC filtering to minimize switching noise that could interfere with the flight controller's sensors.
Testing
